Dark Chocolate Orange Slice and Bake Shortbread Cookies

December 24, 2025

These Dark Chocolate Dipped Orange Shortbread cookies are so beautiful and festive. They soft and flavorful and perfect for the holidays. This Christmas Cookie Recipe is a slice and bake recipe making them the perfect cookie box recipe. They only take 7 ingredients to make but seriously are bakery worthy.

If you are a fan of chocolate and a fan of citrus and orange then you will absolutely adore these cookies. I LOVE how easy they are to make but they’re so flavorful and yummy. They have the perfect texture and bite to them. The dark chocolate balances the citrus perfectly but you could also do milk or white chocolate as well!!

Method

  1. Line your baking sheets with parchment paper and pre-heat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl sugar and orange zest and using a fork or your fingers, mix them together until the sugar is moistend by the orange zest.

Shortbread has a very smooth, clean taste that lingers nicely. It doesn’t leave you feeling overwhelmed, just pleasantly satisfied.
