These Chocolate Cinnamon Iced Oatmeal Cookies are a spin off of the classic old fashioned iced oatmeal cookies. The Chocolate and cinnamon pair so well together for a festive spin. These Christmas cookies are so soft, chewy and delicious. The oats add the perfect texture and the glaze tops them off perfectly.
Chocolate and Cinnamon are such an underrated flavor combination. They go so well together. Cinnamon brings out the chocolate flavor, while also adding the perfect simple spice to the cookie elevating it so much.

Christmas is one of my favorite times of year. I love how it challenges people to focus more on their family, giving and taking time to slow down. It’s so cozy and bright and festive and truly brings so much joy.
The Holidays can bring a lot of stress as well so whatever this season looks like for you, it’s important to remember the TRUE reason for the season, Jesus. God sent Jesus down as a baby, becoming fully human while also being fully God, to save this world from sin and be able to be right with God. Salvation in Him is a FREE gift. Nothing we can do will ever be able to earn it. AND No one is ever too far gone to receive it. Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord, will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

Old Fashioned Iced Oatmeal Cookies have been some of my favorites to make lately. They are so good, super easy to make, no chill, and have something super nostalgic about them. This was my first time ver making a chocolate oatmeal cookie (other than no bake cookies) and I honestly love how they turned out. They were so fudgy almost like a brownie cookie but the oats add and extra chewiness to them.
The other Old Fashioned Iced Oatmeal Cookies I’ve made are my classic ones: Iced Oatmeal Cookies. They were such a hit in my christmas cookie series last year. I also made: Salted Maple Old Fashioned Iced Oatmeal Cookies and they were also such a hit this fall. All of these recipes can be made all year round though!!

What Should I Make These For?
This is the PERFECT cookie recipe for the holiday season. The flavors are festive and are sure to please a crowd. You could make these cookies for Christmas, or anytime throughout the season. They would be a wonderful recipe for a holiday family get together or to make for Santa on Christmas Eve.
Making them with your kids, best friend or lover would be such a fun festive holiday activity!! OR you could even make them for your neighbors, a cookie exchange, essential workers in your community, your church family or school teachers. Cookies always make such a kind and thoughtful gift. They’re also personal and affordable. The holidays are the best time to give homemade gift and spread the spirit of Christmas.

To get my cookies to be super round and all the same shape, I like using a round glass, a biscuit cutter or cookie cutter to the lid of a mason jar!! It’s definitely not required but just a fun little tip, I like to use. I’ll share a link HERE to some on amazon if you’d like to try out this simple yet effective baking hack. (affiliate code)

I love creating a list of all the ingredients you will need to make my recipe on the post before the recipe. That way you can clearly see everything you’ll need and what you may need to go grab at the store to make them.
What You’ll Need:
- butter
- sugar
- dark brown sugar (or light)
- eggs
- vanilla bean paste or extract
- cornstarch
- baking soda
- baking powder
- cinnamon
- salt
- cocoa powder
- all purpose flour
- oats
- powdered sugar
- water (or milk)
- parchment paper
All the ingredients are very simple and easy to find at your local grocery store OR already in your kitchen ready to go. They are simple ingredients but together make such a delicious fun recipe and I’m so excited for you to try them out.

Let’s Get Started!!

Chocolate Cinnamon Iced Oatmeal Cookies
Ingredients
Method
- Pre-heat your oven to 350℉ and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl add your butter, sugar and brown sugar. Stir until well combined.
- Add your eggs and vanilla and stir until light and fluffy.
- Next, add in your dry ingredients which includes your cornstarch, baking soda, baking powder, salt, flour, cocoa powder and oats. Stir until just combined.
- Using a large cookie scoop, scoop your cookie dough into 1-2 inch balls and place on your baking sheets lined with parchment paper a few inches apart to prevent from spreading into each other.
- Bake in the oven at 350℉ for 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven and using a round cookie cutter or glass, scoot the edges of your cookies in to make them all round and to help out with spreading.
- In a large measuring cup, add 2 cups of powdered sugar and 3 tbsp of water (add more if needed) and whisk until well combined.
- Once your cookies have cooled completely, dip tops of them in your icing and then let them set on a cooling rack for the glaze to set.
- Serve, Share & Enjoy!!
