Ingredients
Method
- Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium sized sauce pan on medium high heat add your butter and let it melt. Once its fully melted, keep watching it as it starts to bubble up and turn to a brown amber color. Stir it occasionally. When your butter is brown in color, has a nutty caramel smell and has brown bits at the bottom, it's ready! This process will take 5-10 minutes. Let cool.
- In a large bowl add your sugar and brown sugar and stir it up. Slowly pour in your brown butter and mix again. Next add your eggs and vanilla and stir again until well combined. (Be sure to let your brown butter cool a little before adding your eggs.)
- Add your dry ingredients to this mixture and fold until incorporated. Dough should be soft in texture. Next, add your chocolate chips and halloween colored m&ms and fold until combined,
- Scoop your cookie dough into 1-2 inch balls onto your baking sheets lined with parchment paper a couple inches apart. Top with extra chocolate chips and m&ms and place in the oven for 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees.
- Remove from oven and top with flaky sea salt. Let cool, share and enjoy your cookies!
Notes
brown butter- browning your butter is optional is this recipe and your cookies will still turn out if you skip this step. It does make these cookies so much better and I fully believe that you can do it and will not regret it if you decide to try it out!
