S'mores are one of the most beloved summer treats so these chocolate s'mores cake donuts are the perfect dessert to make this summer. This recipe elevates a cake mix and are so easy to make.
Pre-heat your oven to 350° and grease your donut mold pans.
In a large bowl add your cake mix, eggs, oil and water as directed on the back of the box. Whisk into well combined.
Transfer your batter into a piping bag (you can also use a spoon or a spouted measuring glass.) and pour into your donut molds. Be careful to not over fill them. Halfway should be good.
Bake in the oven at 350° for 15-20 minutes until fully cooked. A butter knife or toothpick should come out clean. Remove from oven and let cool.
For Chocolate Ganache:
In a glass measuring cup, heat your heavy whipping cream for about 1 minute in the microwave. Add in your chocolate chips and let set in the heavy cream for five minutes.
Whisk it up until smooth. If the ganache is too thin, add more chocolate and if its too thick add a little bit of cream (about 1 tsp) at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
Assemble:
To assemble your donuts, dip them into your chocolate ganache one at a time and place on a wire rack.
Top with toasted mini marshmallows and crushed graham crackers.
