Muddy Buddy Cookies

November 23, 2024

Growing up, every year around Christmas time I would make Muddy buddies (aka Puppy chow) and continued making it as I got older. I personally believe that peanut butter and chocolate is one of the best flavor combinations, especially around Christmas.

I of course had to turn it into a cookie flavor for my series that I do for Christmas, My 12 days of Christmas cookie series. Because who doesn’t love a fun Christmas treat turned into cookie form? I know I do!!

The last couple of years I have done a video series on my instagram and TikTok called the 12 days of Christmas cookie series where I share 12 different cookie recipes over the holiday season for you guys to make for your friends and family to enjoy!! AND of course for Santa Claus himself too. 😉

These cookie recipes are all super easy and fun to make, anyone can make them!! Plus I love sharing all sorts of flavors and textures so there is something for everyone to enjoy!!

Down below I will share a list of some of my favorite cookies I’ve shared in my series. I hope you guys love them and find something that everyone will enjoy:

  • Hot Cocoa Cookies
  • White Chocolate Coconut Macadamia Nut Cookies
  • Peanut Butter Cup Cookies
  • Double Chocolate Peppermint Blossoms
  • Christmas M&M Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • Funfetti Cookies

These cookie recipes would be GREAT to share for a festive holiday party, family get togethers, a Christmas movie night in with your friends and family, office Holiday party, cookie swap, cookie boxes or with your loved one. The possibilities are endless!!

I love seeing you guys share the cookies, it’s one of the best parts of doing this series, seeing you guys enjoy the recipes with your loved ones.

Muddy Buddy Cookies are such a fun one for Christmas. They are super soft and flavorful with a delicious chocolate and peanut butter base and then of course the muddy buddies on top add the PERFECT crunch. Then to top them off a sprinkle of powdered sugar make these cookies look magical and so festive.

I love creating a list of all the ingredients you will need to make my recipe on the post before the recipe. That way you can clearly see everything you’ll need and what you may need to go grab at the store to make them.

What You’ll Need:

  • butter
  • peanut butter
  • sugar
  • brown sugar
  • eggs
  • vanilla extract
  • cornstarch
  • baking soda
  • salt
  • flour (all purpose)
  • cocoa powder
  • powdered sugar
  • parchment paper

If you’re making homemade Muddy Buddies, you’ll also need:

  • Corn Chex
  • Rice Chex
  • butter
  • peanut butter
  • chocolate chips
  • vanilla extract
  • powdered sugar
  • freezer bags

All the ingredients are very simple and easy to find at your local grocery store OR already in your kitchen ready to go. They are simple ingredients but together make such a delicious fun recipe and I’m so excited for you to try them out.

To get my cookies to be super round and all the same shape, I like using a round glass, a biscuit cutter or cookie cutter to the lid of a mason jar!! It’s definitely not required but just a fun little tip, I like to use. I’ll share a link HERE to some on amazon if you’d like to try out this simple yet effective baking hack.

Let’s Get Started!!
